How the Micronesia flag emoji works
🇫🇲 is not a single character. It is two regional indicator letters, 🇫 (U+1F1EB) and 🇲 (U+1F1F2), which spell FM, the two-letter code for Micronesia. Phones and computers that support flag emojis draw the pair as the flag.
Why do I see "FM" instead of the flag?
Windows does not draw country flag emojis. In Chrome, Edge and most Windows apps, 🇫🇲 shows up as the letters FM. The emoji is still correct: paste it into a message and anyone reading on an iPhone, Android phone or Mac sees the flag, like the image at the top of this page.
