License

Flag images on WorldFlag.org are free to use, anywhere, by anyone.

TL;DR

  • ✓ Free for any use — personal, commercial, editorial, educational
  • ✓ No attribution required
  • ✓ Modify, remix, redistribute
  • ✓ No registration, no API key, no email

Why these images are free

National flag designs are symbols of state. In most jurisdictions they are explicitly excluded from copyright protection or considered public domain. The specific image files distributed from this site are sourced from public-domain repositories (primarily Wikimedia Commons) and are themselves in the public domain or released under permissive terms equivalent to CC0.

We provide the files as-is, without warranty. We don't claim ownership over the flag designs themselves — they belong to the nations they represent.

Attribution (optional)

Attribution isn't required, but it's appreciated. If you'd like to credit, any of these are fine:

What's NOT covered

This license applies only to flag image files. The following are not in the public domain:

  • · Editorial content (descriptions, history, symbolism narratives) on flag pages — copyright WorldFlag.org, all rights reserved
  • · Site code, design, layout, branding — copyright WorldFlag.org
  • · Any third-party content embedded on the site (logos, advertising creative, etc.)
