Unicode: U+1F1EA U+1F1E8
How the Ecuador flag emoji works
🇪🇨 is not a single character. It is two regional indicator letters, 🇪 (U+1F1EA) and 🇨 (U+1F1E8), which spell EC, the two-letter code for Ecuador. Phones and computers that support flag emojis draw the pair as the flag.
Why do I see "EC" instead of the flag?
Windows does not draw country flag emojis. In Chrome, Edge and most Windows apps, 🇪🇨 shows up as the letters EC. The emoji is still correct: paste it into a message and anyone reading on an iPhone, Android phone or Mac sees the flag, like the image at the top of this page.
