How the Pakistan flag emoji works
🇵🇰 is not a single character. It is two regional indicator letters, 🇵 (U+1F1F5) and 🇰 (U+1F1F0), which spell PK, the two-letter code for Pakistan. Phones and computers that support flag emojis draw the pair as the flag.
Why do I see "PK" instead of the flag?
Windows does not draw country flag emojis. In Chrome, Edge and most Windows apps, 🇵🇰 shows up as the letters PK. The emoji is still correct: paste it into a message and anyone reading on an iPhone, Android phone or Mac sees the flag, like the image at the top of this page.
How to type the Pakistan flag emoji
- iPhone and iPad: open the emoji keyboard and search “Pakistan”, or scroll to the last category, Flags.
